4 Feb 2025: The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh will arrive at Kathmandu on 4th February, for a 5-day visit to Nepal. Their plans include meeting new Gurkha recruits, and their families, at the attestation parade in Pokhara; inspecting UK-funded devlopment projects in Nepal, and spending some time trekking to the Ghandruk area, exploring the Annapurna foothills. 12 Dec 2024: At the AGM of the Britain-Nepal Society (BNS), held at the Nepalese Embassy in London, Nick Hinton, the chair of BRANNGO and the Britain-Nepal Charitable Trust, was also elected to become Chairman of BNS.
Nick said: 'Bringing together these three organisations under one chairman will provide great opportunities for collaboration and joint efforts to improve the lot of those in Nepal. It is a great privilege and I am looking forward to the many challenges I face to deliver the potential benefits'.

Perspectives on Nepalese Education - and the role NGOs can play
10 Apr 2024: A lively discussion on the role NGOs can play followed the introductory presentation by Bil Prasad Gurung, Headmaster of the state-run Shree Jana Jyoti Secondary School in rural Gandaki, in the first of a series of webinars hosted by the BRANNGO Education Working Group
A series of 3 free courses on the Open University's Open Learn site, developed in collaboration between the OU and the FCDO, covering Identification, Prevention, Reporting, Responding, Accountability and Learning elements of the Safeguarding cycle.
Online classes: Krishna Pradhan, a former lecturer at SOAS in London, is offering to run online, non-academic Nepali language classes for BRANNGO members. Classes of 4-5 people will have one 2-hour session a week, at a cost of £30 (£15 per hour); or a reduced rate of £22 (£11 per hour), if you only want speaking practice (ie without additional material, such as handouts and exercises)
